Rusk's Village Bakery - an environment I've created from the ground-up based on Joker Chen's original concept as a personal project.
I blocked out the scene with basic shapes using the concept as a composition guide, then began planning textures and trim sheets for the assets I would need. I produced materials in Substance Designer while in the initial stages of development with an eye to use them in most of the assets. As the materials came together, I further developed the models and got the scene into Unreal for basic lighting and set up. From here, I moved to creating background assets using more ready-existing materials as a base for them, along with building up a foliage pack to generate across the terrain. Once the Unreal scene was set up and possible camera shots were composed, the scene organically developed based on what I thought would complement the bakery as the hero asset.
